I wanted a surfboard created specifically for small waves without having to resort to a longboard. I also desired to use my graphic design and illustration skills to create functional art in a medium that I would use frequently, and generate conversation by doing so.
Another board I used Photoshop to create can be seen here.
Myself
The design of the surfboard itself is based on a popular 1970’s shape called a “fish.” It’s a fast and loose board for small waves. I wanted a modern board that would generate it’s own speed in mushy surf, rather than rely solely on the power of a wave. Something that would rocket through gutless surf like a Flaming Fish.
